Habkern – with around 650 inhabitants and more than 60 agricultural businesses – lies in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, above Interlaken at an altitude of 1,200 meters, at the gateway between Augstmatthorn and Hohgant, a unique cultural and natural landscape. The embedded Habkern–Sörenberg moorland is one of the most impressive and largest moorland areas in Switzerland.
